Soy beans, oil and Donald Trump. Those topics moved the markets Tuesday, as U.S. indexes closed near all-time highs buoyed by strong economic data (U.S. economy grew at an annual 3.2% pace in the third quarter powered by strong consumer spending and a surge in soybean exports) and continued positive investor sentiment brought on by the President-elect.
Healthcare roared back in big way to help push the Nasdaq higher, even as Trump announced he would appoint Obamacare critic and Michigan Republican Rep. Tom Price to the head of Health and Human Services. We now await more appointments, which could come as soon as tonight.
So while the markets continued to assess the prospects of a December rate hike and oil production freeze, and patrons mourn the tragedy in Colombia that took the lives of dozens including a Brazilian soccer club and about 21 journalists, TheStreet and its affiliates were busy finding investible ideas to help you navigate these booming markets.
