EASTON, Pa., Nov. 22, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- A global leader in pipe joining solutions, Victaulic is engaged in joining and bettering the communities where employees live and work, especially the Lehigh Valley.
The organization's philanthropic support of the American Cancer Society (ACS) began in 1948, when Victaulic's U.S. co-founder Frederick H. Bedford Jr. organized a global fundraising campaign for the cancer charity. His whirlwind flight tour spanned four continents in 100 days, traveling 47,000 miles collecting travel stamped Air-Letters to raise donations for the cause. Nearly seventy decades later, two Victaulic executives continue this tradition. Executive Vice President and CFO Joe Savage, and Saleem Saab, International Legal and General Counsel - joined 10 other local men in the ACS Making Strides Against Breast Cancer's Real Men Wear Pink of Lehigh Valley campaign, which raised a total of $93,000. On Monday, November 21, ACS visited Victaulic to thank the company for its contribution to this campaign. "We should not rest until a cure for breast cancer is found," commented Joe. "I, like most, know far too many families that have been impacted by this disease. This is why Saleem and I committed to raising awareness and funds for the Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer efforts, so that we can make a tangible difference in the fight against breast cancer."
