Despite the outcome of the contentious presidential election, the U.S. consumer is positioned to shop until they drop on the unofficial start to the holiday shopping season known as Black Friday, given surging stock markets, higher home values and gradual improvements in hour wages. 

So will Black Friday start with a resounding boom or a surprising thud?
