Hip Hop Hall of Fame Design Concept Looks Pretty Cool

As I sit here and devour the new A Tribe Called Quest album (it's great, highly reccommend!), it seems only fitting that we get a design update on the Hip Hop Hall of Fame after 20 years of planning.

From the press release, the actual location of the Hall is still undecided but has been "narrowed down" to two locations in the Manhattan area. "We are pleased that the Hip Hop Hall of Fame & Hotel Building project is moving forward and that it will have a major socio-economic impact" stated JT Thompson, Creator of the Hip Hop Hall of Fame Awards show on BET.

Being cited as a "state of the art Green Technology & Energy Conservation" building project, the complex will house the Museum, a 5 star hotel, retail, arcade, TV studio, sports bar, restaurant, and 150+ live events a year, with the goal of 1MN visitors annually. The building site will be chosen by early 2017 and has a projected opening date of 2019-2020.
