Ameriprise Financial Brings Together 9,500 Volunteers Nationwide To Help End Hunger

For the seventh consecutive year, Ameriprise Financial (NYSE: AMP) is bringing together thousands of volunteers at 500 events across the country to provide meals to those in need before Thanksgiving. On Nov. 11, more than 9,500 Ameriprise employees, advisors and clients will volunteer at food banks, pantries and warehouses nationwide to prepare food, serve meals and sort donations in support of the more than 42 million Americans struggling with hunger. By rallying together, company volunteers will provide more than 1 million meals for people in need.

Ameriprise organizes the company-wide National Days of Service twice each year in partnership with Feeding America ®, the nation's largest domestic hunger-relief organization. The timing of this year's event, which falls on Veterans Day, is particularly meaningful, as one in five households served by Feeding America has a member who has served in the U.S. military.

"We live in a country where food is plentiful, yet so many of our neighbors - including a number of our nation's heroic veterans and their families - struggle with hunger," said Brian Pietsch, head of community relations at Ameriprise. "All veterans, and all Americans, deserve access to healthy food. At Ameriprise, we have a strong volunteer force that's devoted to making a difference for these families and individuals, especially as we enter the holiday season."

Ameriprise Financial encourages the public to join the effort to end hunger Now through the Thanksgiving holiday, Ameriprise is again doubling the impact of donations to Feeding America.* Every dollar donated through the Ameriprise Financial Challenge (up to $500,000) can help provide 22 meals** through the network of food banks to families in need, twice the amount of a standard donation. Participation is easy - simply visit:

"Since 2010, the Ameriprise National Days of Service have become two of our largest corporate-partner volunteer events," said Nancy Curby, senior vice president of corporate partnerships and operations at Feeding America. "We know Ameriprise volunteers mean business. They show up ready to roll up their sleeves and do what it takes to provide food to as many people in need as possible."
