NANJING, China, Nov. 4, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- The southern part of Jiangsu, collectively known as Jiangnan, is a region composed of water towns and rivers. Other than being the " Venice of the East ", it is also home to some of the most renowned Chinese culture and art, like Kunqu opera, purple clay teapots and Su embroidery.
To promote the local culture and art further, Guru Online, on behalf of Jiangsu Tourism Administration, invited American photographer and YouTuberJay Mantri to Jiangnan. Mantri visited a list of 2016 China-US Tourism Year destinations in the area and experienced first-hand the charm of the region. During the 10-day Discover Jiangnan cultural tour, Jay visited six major cities in Jiangsu;Nanjing, Yangzhou, Nantong, Suzhou, Wuxi and Yixing. He experienced local folk arts, including kite-making, dim sum making, blue calico dyeing, Kunqu Opera and purple clay teapot making , but of all the destinations, he was most impressed by the ancient water town of Zhouzhuang, located near Suzhou.
