CHICAGO, Nov. 2, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Cutting the ribbon on schedule for one of its marquee clients, the new Hyde Park store will be Target's fifth "flexible format" store in Chicago and Novak's 80th overall Target project. Illinois State Senator (13 th District), Kwame Raoul, and 5 th Ward Alderman Leslie A. Hairston, addressed those in attendance last evening, anxious to get into the new 20,000 square foot store.
Novak Construction performed Design-Build services for the MEPFP trades and served as General Contractor for this new "small format" Target. The store occupies the first floor of this mixed-use building, located in Vue53 at 1330 E. 53 rd St. (intersection of 53 rd and Kimbark Ave.). This smaller scale store will offer products selected to cater to the University of Chicago students and Hyde Park neighborhood residents. This is Novak's second Hyde Park project this year. In June, Novak Construction completed the new Whole Foods Market store at City Hyde Park, another longtime client for whom Novak has done nearly three dozen stores.
