Tim Carry To Step Down As FOX News' Executive Vice President Of Distribution

FOX News announced today that Tim Carry, its Executive Vice President of Distribution is stepping down from his position effective November 11 th. Mr. Carry has led all distribution efforts for FOX News Channel (FNC) and FOX Business Network (FBN) since their inception.

In making the announcement, Co-Presidents Jack Abernethy and Bill Shine jointly said, "While we would love for him to continue here and worked hard to convince him to stay, we respect his decision and are grateful for his immense dedication in making FOX News an incredibly powerful asset. Over his 20-year career here, Tim has played an instrumental role in introducing both FNC and FBN to millions of viewers. His sharp negotiating skills with cable and satellite operators have led to FOX News securing the best rates in the industry."

Carry added, "It has been an honor to have been part of the FOX News team over the last 20 years. Through the dedication and fortitude of so many at FOX News I have seen it grow from its inception to a fledgling pay TV network, to the genre leader, and, eventually, the number one cable network in the United States. I am so grateful to the leadership and guidance I received from 21 st Century Fox, humbled by the talented team of reporters, anchors and producers who've made the network so great, and, above all else, thankful to our distribution partners and advertisers who long ago believed in our vision of 'news re-defined' both in style and substance, making the news category accessible and engaging to so many more pay TV viewers."

Carry has spent over 35 years in the pay TV industry. He joined FNC as Senior Vice President of Affiliate Relations in March 1996 as one of the network's first employees, seven months prior to its launch. During his two-decade tenure, he has been responsible for negotiating all distribution agreements. Beginning in 2003, Carry played a key role in the development and planning for the launch of FBN, four years before it went on air in 2007. In 2013, he was promoted to Executive Vice President of Distribution at FOX News, expanding his role to include international distribution, new business development, wireless and digital initiatives, and partnerships.
