LYNCHBURG, Va., Nov. 1, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Banker Steel, one of the country's leading structural steel fabrication and erection companies, announced today that it has been awarded the structural steel framing contract for the prestigious One Vanderbilt project in New York City. One Vanderbilt will be a new, 1464-foot high, 1.6 million square feet building located at 42 nd Street and Vanderbilt Avenue, immediately adjacent to Grand Central Terminal. Slated for completion in 2020, One Vanderbilt will completely transform the New York skyline and the experience of those in the Grand Central District. Banker Steel will be under contract to provide all structural steel framing (26,500 tons) for the project as well as responsibility for the erection, beginning Summer 2017. SL Green Realty Corporation is the project's developer. Banker Steel will be under contract to Tishman Construction, the general contractor.
