Share of Noble Energy  (NBL)  are up over 7.5% thus far in 2016, recovering with the price of oil. Karen Firestone, CEO of Aureus Asset Management, said the shale driller is a great way to get back into the energy sector because of its diversified asset base.

"Noble is half oil, half gas and is geographically diversified with properties all over the world with the Permian basin in the U.S. being one of their strongest," said Firestone. "They also have an option on the Israeli gas field, the Leviathan, off the coast that will be one of the biggest gas fields in the world."

Firestone added that Noble's valuation remains cheap despite its recent run-up at eight times its enterprise value to EBITDA, which is on the low side for companies that size.

Firestone is also bullish on W.R. Grace  (GRA) , whose stock has risen over 11% since it split off its construction products business and became a specialty chemicals pure play. She said the company has been weighed down by headwinds in emerging markets but should see a surge once growth resumes in these areas especially in its gasoline and petrochemicals business.

"If you see growth in other countries including China in terms of cars being sold and miles being driven, that is great for Grace," said Firestone, adding that its plastics business will benefit from GDP growth in the U.S. in the next year.

Boston Scientific  (BSX)  is up 20% year to date. Firestone expects more gains to come now that the medical device maker has put its legal troubles behind it and started cranking out new products.

"They are really on a roll with new products and we think they will be able to withstand the competition very well," said Firestone, referring to the potential threat from the St Jude  (STJ)   combination with Abbott Laboratories  (ABT) .

Finally, Firestone is a fan of  retailer TJX Companies  (TJX) , up 7% year to date. TJX will be able to withstand the pressure on bricks-and-mortar retailers through its unique ability to buy quality items from bankrupt chains and mark them up, she said.

"It's an experience shopping at TJX and we think they will continue to do well despite what is happening with other segments of their industry," said Firestone.
