EP Energy (EPE) was downgraded to neutral from outperform at Credit Suisse. There is incremental risk to the balance sheet in the current pricing environment, said Credit Suisse.

J.C. Penney (JCP) was upgraded to hold at TheStreet Ratings.

Maximus (MMS) was upgraded to buy from hold at Canaccord Genuity. $60 price target. The company is expanding margins and augmenting growth with acquisitions, said Canacord.

Pfizer (PFE) was downgraded to hold at TheStreet Ratings.

Shopify (SHOP) was upgraded to overweight at Pacific Crest. $35 price target. The company's strong momentum should continue, said Pacific Crest.

Steel Dynamics (STLD) was upgraded to buy from hold at Berenberg. $23.50 price target. The company is unfairly trading at a discount to its peers, Berenberg said.

Valspar (VAL) was downgraded to sector weight at Keybanc. This was a valuation call, Keybanc said.
