DETROIT, Dec. 30, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Covisint Corporation (Nasdaq:COVS), the leading Cloud Platform for building Identity and Internet of Things (IoT) applications, today announced Tim Evavold, director of connected car and dealer ecosystems, will speak on key success factors in enabling ridesharing and multimodal transportation in an increasingly connected world at CTS, taking place January 5, 2016, at the Rio Hotel, Las Vegas, Nevada.

During the session, Evavold will address fundamental connected vehicle considerations when enabling a ride sharing model, such as interoperability, data governance, security and privacy.

"We're on the cusp of an evolution in the sustainable transportation model - particularly in urban areas," said Evavold.  "Where vehicle ownership was once a consumer rite of passage, vehicle sharing through ride sharing models and use of multimodal transportation has become less a novelty and more the norm - and connected vehicles will factor heavily in that evolution."

Speaking Session:
  • Topic: Key Success Factors in Powering Ride Sharing and Multimodal Transportation in Connected Environments
  • Who: Tim Evavold, director of connected car and dealer ecosystems
  • When: Tuesday, January 5, 2015, 12:10-12:35 p.m. PT
  • Where: Consumer Telematics Show (CTS), Rio Hotel, Las Vegas, Nevada

Additionally, Covisint will reveal the latest iteration of its Connected Vehicle Experience Station at CTS booth #8.  Visitors are invited to view the experience, which will illustrate:
  • Building deeper consumer and dealership engagement through connected devices and systems
  • Adjusting settings in the head unit by individual driver through managing driver identities
  • Setting boundaries (such as geofence) and prompting vehicle or "thing" action when approaching or exceeding such boundaries
  • Controlling vehicle action with a mobile device through IoT services enabled by a cloud platform
