As more and more companies tap into the on-demand economy, one start-up thinks it's got what it takes to be the Uber of the beauty industry.

BeGlammed was founded in June of 2014 as a way to connect stylists with clients through a convenient platform.

"The idea came from the concept of getting a good easy platform for clients to book hair and makeup," said BeGlammed founder Maile Pacheco. "I've been in the beauty industry for a while and I felt like there was a gap."

The app lets users order stylists through three different pricing levels, which are based on the stylist's experience. A hair appointment can cost anywhere from $40 to $195, and a makeup appointment can cost anywhere from $60 to $250. Bridal appointments have a different pricing range of up to $495.

BeGlammed is taking advantage of rising interest in the on-demand economy. According to CB Insights, investment in on-demand mobile services hit $4.12 billion in 2014, up 514% year over year.

But BeGlammed is currently up against a number of other players in the on-demand beauty space. Priv and GlamSquad, for example, have been gaining attention. But BeGlammed believes that their team of more than 750 hair and makeup stylists plus their footprint makes them stand out.

Since starting in Las Vegas, the company has expanded to 16 cities in the U.S., and plans to continue that growth nationally and internationally, adding at least three more cities by the end of the year.

The company has seen its appointments and revenue grow 40% per month, according to CEO Rebby Gregg. And the average BeGlammed client spends over $130 per booking.

"At the end of the day it saves the client time, and it fits any budget," Gregg said. "It's convenient for the stylists and the clients."
