TheStreet's Jim Cramer, Action Alerts PLUS Portfolio Manager and host of CNBC's "Mad Money," said Allergan (AGN - Get Report) is a stock to hold onto, and the company might not take the first bid from Pfizer (PFE - Get Report) , should the pharmaceutical company make an offer. Several reports say that Pfizer and Allergan are in merger talks.
"I think Brent Saunders would like to get far more. The stock traded at 340 without a takeover bid," said Cramer explaining how Allergan's CEO won't settle for a low price. Cramer added that Saunders "has a lot of irons in the fire," which is why his charitable trust owns the stock.
He made the comments while answering viewers' social media questions on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange Thursday.
Cramer was also asked about small biopharma companies. He said he prefers the larger companies like Amgen or Celgene (CELG - Get Report) , but he does likes Radius (RDUS - Get Report) . Cramer also is a fan of big pharma companies Eli Lilly (LLY - Get Report) , Bristol Myers Squibb (BMY - Get Report) and Pfizer.
Next Cramer was asked if he is still long NXP Semiconductor (NXPI - Get Report) . Cramer said he's trying to figure out what went wrong with that company. He said NXP's guidance was "inexplicable," particularly when contrasted with what Apple (AAPL - Get Report) is seeing. He's been telling investors to avoid NXP, Avago (AVGO - Get Report) , Qorvo (QRVO - Get Report) and Skyworks (SWKS - Get Report) , and instead favor Intel (INTC - Get Report) , Texas Instruments (TXN - Get Report) and Analog Devices (ADI - Get Report) . He also mentioned that he'll be discussing Avnet (AVT - Get Report) on "Mad Money" Thursday.
Finally Cramer was asked for his thoughts on Macy's (M - Get Report) . The company has been hurt by VF Corp. (VFC) , he said, and department stores have lost some business to companies like Target (TGT - Get Report) .
