NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Shares of Tata Motors (TTM) are higher by 8.88% to $29.79 in mid-morning trading on Thursday, after the company released its global wholesale figures for September.

The Mumbai, India-based automobile company reported that global wholesales for September, including Jaguar Land Rover, were 97,102 nos. This represents a 21% increase over the same month in the year ago period.

Jaguar Land Rover has struggled this year with the stock losing close to 30% of its market value as JRL had been reporting declining sales month after month, Barron's reports.

Tata's September global wholesales of passenger vehicles grew by 40% year over year to 63,334 nos. Cumulative passenger vehicles wholesales came higher by 7.37% over September of last year.

However, global wholesales of all Tata Motors' commercial vehicles and Tata Daewoo range in September 2015 were 33,768 nos., lower by 3%, when compared to September 2014. Cumulative commercial vehicles wholesales for this September fell by 2% over last year.
