NTT Communications Corporation (NTT Com), the ICT solutions and international communications business within NTT (NYSE:NTT), announced today that it will begin offering web application firewalls (WAF) used in both NTT Com's Enterprise Cloud service and the private-cloud infrastructure of enterprises or service infrastructure of cloud providers. This new function as an Enterprise Cloud's optional base, known as Integrated Security Appliance: Web Security (WAF), beginning September 30 in Japan and from December overseas.The function will also be offered with NTT Com's WideAngle managed-security services for the cloud environments of individual enterprises and cloud providers. Launches will begin in the first quarter of 2016 in Japan and selected overseas countries, with further expansions in Asia, North America and Europe planned. The new function will enable enterprises to use WAF, in addition to basic security functions such as Intrusion Prevention System (IPS) and URL filtering, to deploy speedy, affordable security measures for websites operated on cloud infrastructure. NTT Com launched a one-stop unified threat management (UTM) service as an Enterprise Cloud's optional base in Japan this past January.
