Ms. Hughes, an accomplished media sales, programming and audience research executive, is based in New York City and reports to reports to Deb McDermott, Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer.

In this newly created role, Ms. Hughes is responsible for aggregating and analyzing audience measurement insights in order to develop strategies and initiatives that will drive business growth. She will work closely with the Company's national and local sales forces to leverage quantitative and qualitative data in a compelling manner to meet the needs of advertisers across all screens. In addition, she will collaborate with the Company's programming and content teams to evaluate and launch programming initiatives that will effectively attract and engage audiences.

Ms. Hughes joins Media General after spending 11 years with CBS, where she served as Vice President, Director, Media Strategies for CBS Television Stations Group from 2004 to 2007 and Senior Vice President for CBS Local Digital Media/CBS Radio from 2007 to 2015. During her tenure with CBS, Ms. Hughes led and directed sales, over-the-air, digital, streaming and audience research; tracked, monitored and communicated stations' successes with regard to Nielsen PPM ratings and Internet trafficking measures, and positioned them in a favorable light against key competitors. Prior to CBS, Ms. Hughes served as Vice President, Director of Research at AdLink; Vice President, Director of Strategic Research and IMsight at Initiative Media for IM Futures Western Region; Vice President, Research Director for Team Disney at Initiative Media; and Director of Research for ABC/Capital Cities, Los Angeles Magazine. Before moving her career to Los Angeles in 1995, Ms. Hughes held various research executive positions in Toronto, Canada.
