The "Go Set A Watchman" release date is less than a week away and Books-A-Million will be welcoming this historic literary event with midnight openings in select stores the evening of July 13. In addition to the late night openings, they've partnered with to host "The Next Chapter," a three-day literary celebration in honor of the publication of Harper Lee's new book. "The Next Chapter" will bring storytellers, community leaders and nationally acclaimed authors together for live readings and entertaining reflections on the themes in Lee's books. The events will take place in Lee's home state of Alabama on July 14 in Birmingham, July 15 in Huntsville, and July 16 in Mobile. The events are free to the public. Register by visiting

"The Next Chapter" event will be a chance for Harper Lee fans to get a first look at the content of "Go Set A Watchman," and gain important insight from leading Southern authors Beth Ann Fennelly and Tom Franklin.

Terry Finley, President and Chief Executive Officer at Books-A-Million, an Alabama-based company, will be one of the panelists during the event. Finley has over 35 years of experience in the book industry and as an Auburn University graduate; he has strong ties to the Alabama community.

"Go Set a Watchman" follows the story of Scout Finch, one of the featured characters in " To Kill a Mockingbird." In the recently discovered novel, Scout has returned to visit her father in Lee's Maycomb, Alabama, 20 years after the events that took place in "To Kill a Mockingbird." Now an adult woman, Scout's recollections of her childhood constituted the foundation for "To Kill a Mockingbird."
