Syngenta (SYT) Stock Gains Pre-Market After Standing Firm Against Monsanto Takeover Bid

NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Syngenta AG (SYT) shares are up 0.34% to $86.80 in pre-market trading on Tuesday after the agribuisiness company once again stated that Monsanto's (MON) bid for the company was not in the best interest of its shareholders.

Company chairman Michel Demare reiterated his company's objection to Monsanto's $45 billion bid for the company in a video posted earlier this morning saying that the bid severely undervalues the company.

Earlier this month the company rejected Monsanto's latest offer for the company, which Syngenta said was basically the same as the previously rejected offer just with an additional $2 billion breakup fee clause.
