Warriors-Cavaliers NBA Finals Tickets Most Expensive On Secondary Market Since 2011

NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Games won't be played for almost another week, but anticipation is high for the 2015 NBA Finals. The Golden State Warriors will take on the Cleveland Cavaliers in what will easily be the most expensive Finals on the secondary market since at least 2011.

No surprise, as the two teams held the most expensive average secondary-market ticket prices for NBA teams during the 2014-15 regular season. Those prices have carried over to the final round as fan demand has grown as the teams advanced through the earlier rounds of the playoffs.

The current series average across all seven potential games is $1,461.52. Since 2011, when the Dallas Mavericks defeated the Miami Heat, no other NBA Finals match-up has held a series average above $1,000. The closest was the 2013 series between LeBron James' Miami Heat and the San Antonio Spurs that had an average of $974.21. This series is still currently 50% more expensive on average. This upcoming series will also be the most expensive just to get the cheapest ticket in the arena. Again, the 2013 Heat-Spurs series carried the priciest average get-in price, and again this 2015 series blows it away. The least expensive ticket across the whole series is currently $380 for Game 3 in Cleveland.

Golden State will have home-court advantage in the series and with that will have the opportunity to host up to four home games -- including a lucrative Game 7, which will only occur if the teams battle to a 3-3 tie over the first six games. Across those four games, the average price for Warriors Finals tickets is $1,461.52 on the secondary market. The least expensive game at Oracle Arena is currently Game 2, with an average price of $1,251.69 and get-in price of $618. A potential Game 7 of the series currently has an average of $2,013.52 with a get-in price of $1,026.
