NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Shares of Keysight Technologies (KEYS) were falling 7% to $32.55 on heavy trading volume Wednesday after the scientific instruments company guided below analysts' estimates for the fiscal third quarter.
Keysight said it expects earnings of 37 cents to 51 cents a share and revenue of $635 million to $675 million for the fiscal third quarter. Analysts expect the company to report earnings of 68 cents a share and revenue of $748.08 million for the third quarter.
The company reported earnings of 70 cents a share for the fiscal second quarter, above analysts' estimates of 65 cents a share for the quarter. Revenue fell 0.4% year over year to $740 million for the quarter, in line with analysts' estimates.
About 1.4 million shares of Keysight were traded by 10:07 a.m. Wednesday, above the company's average trading volume of about 639,000 shares a day.
