NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- RATINGS CHANGES

Kroger (KR) was initiated with a sector perform rating at RBC Capital. Valuation call, based on a 12-month price target of $77, RBC Capital said.

Medidata (MDSO) was downgraded at Jefferies to hold from buy. Valuation call, based on a 12-month price target of $55, Jefferies said.

Newmont Mining (NEM) was upgraded at Bank of America/Merrill Lynch to neutral. Twelve-month price target is $29. Company can generate strong free cash flow, Bank of America/Merrill Lynch said.

Whole Foods (WFM) was initiated with a sector perform rating at RBC Capital. Twelve-month price target is $54. Store productivity is declining and sales growth is decelerating, RBC said.
