NCI, Inc. (NASDAQ: NCIT) today announced its Secure Passive Optical Network (SPON) for the U.S. Army's Network Enterprise Technology Command (NETCOM) was a Dynamite Award winner in the most disruptive category during last week's Igniting Innovation 2015 Showcase and Awards event. The winning technology was judged by a panel of government and IT leaders and selected from a group of 102 original submissions representing innovative government and industry solutions developed to address the government's biggest information technology challenges. The event was sponsored by the American Council for Technology - Industry Advisory Council (ACT-IAC) and was held at the Ronald Reagan Building on February 5, 2015. "NCI is proud to have the work we performed for our long-time customer, NETCOM, recognized for this award," said Brian J. Clark, NCI's president. "In addition to being significantly faster, more cost-effective, and more secure than traditional networks, SPON is green technology that is highly scalable with optical cable infrastructure capable of supporting the bandwidth needs of the future." The SPON implementation at NETCOM's Greely Hall facility located on Fort Huachuca, Ariz., established the first integrated network and physical security system at NETCOM headquarters. Responsible for the installation, engineering, operation and defense of the Army's network and mission command capabilities, NCI implemented the SPON as the first step toward providing the U.S. Army with fully integrated monitoring of its network and facility assets across the enterprise. NCI was pleased to be joined by its SPON technology partner companies at the show: American Networking Solutions, CommScope, Network Integrity Systems and Tellabs. About NCI, Inc.
