STOCKS TO BUY: TheStreet Quant Ratings has identified a handful of stocks that can potentially TRIPLE in the next 12 months. Learn more.

TheStreet Ratings rates Air T as a buy. The company's strengths can be seen in multiple areas, such as its revenue growth, largely solid financial position with reasonable debt levels by most measures, solid stock price performance, attractive valuation levels and good cash flow from operations. We feel these strengths outweigh the fact that the company shows low profit margins.

Highlights from TheStreet Ratings analysis on AIRT go as follows:

  • The revenue growth greatly exceeded the industry average of 5.1%. Since the same quarter one year prior, revenues rose by 43.1%. Growth in the company's revenue appears to have helped boost the earnings per share.
  • AIRT's debt-to-equity ratio is very low at 0.05 and is currently below that of the industry average, implying that there has been very successful management of debt levels. Along with this, the company maintains a quick ratio of 2.83, which clearly demonstrates the ability to cover short-term cash needs.
  • Powered by its strong earnings growth of 327.77% and other important driving factors, this stock has surged by 80.15% over the past year, outperforming the rise in the S&P 500 Index during the same period. Regarding the stock's future course, although almost any stock can fall in a broad market decline, AIRT should continue to move higher despite the fact that it has already enjoyed a very nice gain in the past year.
  • The net income growth from the same quarter one year ago has significantly exceeded that of the S&P 500 and the Air Freight & Logistics industry. The net income increased by 298.7% when compared to the same quarter one year prior, rising from $0.46 million to $1.82 million.

STOCKS TO BUY: TheStreet Quant Ratings has identified a handful of stocks that can potentially TRIPLE in the next 12 months. Learn more.

TheStreet Ratings rates Diana Containerships as a sell. Among the areas we feel are negative, one of the most important has been a generally disappointing historical performance in the stock itself.

Highlights from TheStreet Ratings analysis on DCIX go as follows:

  • DCIX's stock share price has done very poorly compared to where it was a year ago: Despite any rallies, the net result is that it is down by 46.98%, which is also worse that the performance of the S&P 500 Index. Investors have so far failed to pay much attention to the earnings improvements the company has managed to achieve over the last quarter. Naturally, the overall market trend is bound to be a significant factor. However, in one sense, the stock's sharp decline last year is a positive for future investors, making it cheaper (in proportion to its earnings over the past year) than most other stocks in its industry. But due to other concerns, we feel the stock is still not a good buy right now.
  • The company's current return on equity greatly increased when compared to its ROE from the same quarter one year prior. This is a signal of significant strength within the corporation. Compared to other companies in the Marine industry and the overall market, DIANA CONTAINERSHIPS INC's return on equity significantly trails that of both the industry average and the S&P 500.
  • Despite currently having a low debt-to-equity ratio of 0.56, it is higher than that of the industry average, inferring that management of debt levels may need to be evaluated further.
  • DIANA CONTAINERSHIPS INC reported significant earnings per share improvement in the most recent quarter compared to the same quarter a year ago. This company has reported somewhat volatile earnings recently. But, we feel it is poised for EPS growth in the coming year. During the past fiscal year, DIANA CONTAINERSHIPS INC swung to a loss, reporting -$1.75 versus $0.24 in the prior year. This year, the market expects an improvement in earnings ($0.07 versus -$1.75).
  • The gross profit margin for DIANA CONTAINERSHIPS INC is rather high; currently it is at 53.75%. It has increased significantly from the same period last year. Regardless of the strong results of the gross profit margin, the net profit margin of 10.99% trails the industry average.

Currently there are no analysts who rate Box Ships a buy, 2 analysts rate it a sell, and none rate it a hold.

TheStreet Ratings rates Box Ships as a hold. The company's strengths can be seen in multiple areas, such as its increase in net income, reasonable valuation levels and expanding profit margins. However, as a counter to these strengths, we also find weaknesses including disappointing return on equity, a generally disappointing performance in the stock itself and feeble growth in the company's earnings per share.

Highlights from TheStreet Ratings analysis on TEU go as follows:

  • The net income growth from the same quarter one year ago has exceeded that of the S&P 500 and the Marine industry average. The net income increased by 16.6% when compared to the same quarter one year prior, going from $4.84 million to $5.65 million.
  • The gross profit margin for BOX SHIPS INC is rather high; currently it is at 57.67%. Despite the high profit margin, it has decreased significantly from the same period last year. Despite the mixed results of the gross profit margin, TEU's net profit margin of 48.00% significantly outperformed against the industry.
  • TEU's stock share price has done very poorly compared to where it was a year ago: Despite any rallies, the net result is that it is down by 73.93%, which is also worse that the performance of the S&P 500 Index.
  • The company's current return on equity has slightly decreased from the same quarter one year prior. This implies a minor weakness in the organization. Compared to other companies in the Marine industry and the overall market on the basis of return on equity, BOX SHIPS INC underperformed against that of the industry average and is significantly less than that of the S&P 500.
