NEW YORK (TheStreet) –– Arts and crafts honcho Martha Stewart is taking her passion for the "do-it-yourself" craze to the next dimension -- the third dimension.
Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia (MSO) announced it has teamed up with 3-D printing company MakerBot, a division of Stratasys (SSYS) to distribute 3D printing materials as well as develop 3D printable designs, as the arts and crafts movement goes high tech.

"We are thrilled to work with MakerBot to bring our signature color palette and designs to the world of 3D printing," said Martha Stewart, Founder and Chief Creative Officer of MSLO in a press release. "3D printing allows for cost-effective product design without compromising artisanal character. With this partnership, we are able to leverage our expertise and expand our business into the exciting new 3D printing category."
MakerBot's acting CEO, Jenny Lawton, noted that Martha Stewart's creations and designs are perfect for the 3D printing world. "We think her creations and colors are a natural fit for 3D printing," Lawton said in the release. "Seeing a renowned lifestyle brand such as MSLO introduce 3D printable merchandise is a true testament to their company's innovative outlook. By working with the MSLO team, we're able to broaden our reach and bring Martha Stewart's design aesthetic to an entirely new audience."
As part of the deal, there will be three new Martha Stewart filament colors for MakerBot PLA as well as a Martha Stewart Digital Store collection and the Trellis Collection, available on MakerBot's website and the company's digital store, starting today. Included in the new colors are Lemon Drop, Robin's Egg and Jadeite, adding to the other 20 colors already available for MakerBot's 3D printers.
