What to Expect From Viacom (VIAB) When They Report Earnings

NEW YORK (TheStreet) --  Viacom, Inc. (VIAB) is scheduled to report its fiscal fourth quarter earnings on Thursday before the market opens, with high expectations of gaining from the success of its summer box-office releases and significant business from its "Transformer 4" movie franchise.

Analysts are expecting the owner of Paramount Pictures, MTV Networks and Comedy Central to report adjusted earnings of $1.68 per share for the quarter, higher than the $1.55 per share the company reported in the same quarter a year ago.

Viacom hopes to top estimates and break its losing streak on three-straight quarters of revenue misses, with analysts expecting $3.9 billion for the quarter, compared to the $3.65 billion the company posted in the same quarter last year.
