Opower (OPWR) Stock Gains in After-Hours Trading Following Earnings Beat

NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Opower, Inc.  (OPWR) shares are up 4.9% to $18.20 in after-hours trading on Tuesday after the cloud-based software provider to the utility industry reported its third quarter earnings results after the closing bell today.

The company reported quarterly revenue of $33.8 million that topped its own guidance by $2.2 million and beat analysts guidance of $31.5 million in revenue generated for the period.

The company also reported a non-GAAP operating loss of $2.9 million which was wider than the $2.4 million loss the company experienced during the same period last year. On a per diluted share basis the company posted a lost of 8 cents per share, 11 cents better than analysts were expecting for the period.
