NEW YORK ( TheStreet) -- Social media alone isn't a branding strategy.

Facebook (FB) , Twitter (TWTR) and other social media have changed everything about marketing, but good branding requires more than "likes," tweets and cat GIFs, according to Tom Doctoroff, author of the highly anticipated upcoming title Twitter is Not a Strategy: Rediscovering the Art of Brand Marketing from St. Martin's Press.

Doctoroff, who is Asia CEO for J. Walter Thompson, one of the largest advertising agencies in the world, examines some of the biggest brands in the world including Nike (NKE) , Coca-Cola (KO) and Apple (AAPL) , and demonstrates how their new media success is built on a foundation of traditional media marketing.

These insights and more can be found in this week's exciting list of upcoming business books. Also, don't miss next week's hottest release from Real Money Pro's Doug Kass, Doug Kass on the Market: A Life on TheStreet, coming out Nov.17 from Wiley.
