Top gainers within the sector include Kinross Gold ( KGC), up 14.8%, Randgold Resources ( GOLD), up 9.7%, Barrick Gold ( ABX), up 3.8%, Energy Transfer Equity ( ETE), up 2.6% and Freeport-McMoRan ( FCX), up 1.6%.
