NEW YORK (MainStreet) -- Investors feel more confident when trading stocks on a mobile app, a new survey reveals.
According to Fidelity's Mobile Money Study, 68% of respondents who trade on their smartphones say it gives them an edge over those who don't use mobile devices to buy and sell stocks.
Aside from mere confidence, 41% of those who regularly use mobile apps actually reported return on investments of over 20%. Plus, only 22% of less frequent users saw returns of that level, shedding light on the potential benefits of mobile trading. These returns beat the overall markets, as the broad S&P 500 is up almost 8% since the start of the year, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average jumped only 3.7% for the year todate.
