Travelport Worldwide (TVPT) Stock Rises in First Trading Day After IPO

NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Shares of Travelport Worldwide  (TVPT) rose in morning trading Thursday, the company's first day of trading after it priced its IPO.

Travelport, a distribution services and e-commerce provider for the global travel industry, priced its initial public offering of 30 million shares at $16 a share. The offering contains a 30-day option for underwriters to purchase up to an additional 4.5 million shares.

The stock opened at $17.69 on Thursday and dipped to a low of $16.40 as of 10:54 a.m., by which point more than 13.8 million shares had changed hands.
