NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Shares of Land's End Inc (LE) are soaring 13.45% to $37.82 in morning trading after the catalog retailer reported better than expected fiscal second quarter earnings yesterday, with a 4.9% profit increase.
The company reported earnings per share of 37 cents for the second quarter, better than the 35 cents per share in the same quarter a year ago, and above the 24 cents per share analysts expected.
Sales climbed 5.4% from one year ago to $347.2 million for the quarter, beating analyst estimates for $340.2 million, despite a 2.9% decrease in retail sales.
