Why Twitter (TWTR) Stock Is Up Today

NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Shares of Twitter Inc (TWTR) are up 3.10% to $52.27 after the social media company announced tests of its "buy" button that will allow users to access offers and merchandise directly from the tweet on mobile devices.

The company said this is an early step in its building functionality to make shopping convenient and easy.

Initial partners for this new feature include retailers Home Depot (HD) and Burberry (BURBY)  , as well as nonprofits like The Nature Conservancy and DonorsChoose.
