Why Nokia (NOK) Stock Is Gaining Today

NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Nokia (NOK) was gaining 2.3% to $8.32 on Friday after announcing a new maps licensing deal with Samsung (SSNLF)

Samsung will include Nokia's Here Maps on Galaxy smartphones and Tizen-based smartwatches, according to GigaOm. The recently-announced Samsung Gear S will be the first smartwatch to use Here in Samsung's Navigator app. The app will give users turn-by-turn directions on their wrist.

A beta version of Here for Android will also be available in the Samsung Galaxy Apps Store after the release of the Gear S.
