Why Vertex Energy (VTNR) Stock Is Gaining Today

NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Vertex Energy (VTNR) was gaining 13.8% to $8.47 Thursday after beating analysts’ estimates for earnings in the second quarter.

For the second quarter Vertex reported earnings of 28 cents a share, 20 cents higher than the Capital IQ Consensus Estimate of 8 cents a share. Revenue grew 105.4% from the year-ago quarter to $72.1 million, below analysts’ expectations of $74.1 million for the quarter.
