Berry Plastics Receives 2013 Supplier Excellence Awards From Eastman Chemical Company

Berry Plastics Group, Inc. (NYSE: BERY), is proud to announce that its Flexible Intermediate Bulk Containers (FIBC) group recently received two significant awards from one of its valued customers: Eastman Chemical Company. Berry Plastics was one of approximately 21 suppliers from Eastman’s 6,000 vendors, to be awarded Eastman’s Supplier Excellence Award. The Company was also presented with an Innovation Award for 2013.

The Supplier Excellence Award recognizes suppliers who demonstrate consistency and high performance in metrics such as on-time delivery, conformance to specifications, and continual improvement efforts. The Innovation Award is presented to suppliers that effectively work to better the company’s product, resulting in improved performance.

“To receive this type of recognition from such a valued partner as Eastman Chemical is indeed an honor,” said Ernie Giordano, Director of Sales and Marketing for Berry Plastics’ FIBC product line. “Berry Plastics’ entire team, including Sales, Operations, Quality, R&D, and Customer Service, is committed to ensuring that high-quality products are produced in a safe and efficient manner so that we consistently deliver product on time and as ordered. In addition, we take pride in being able to supply design and technical expertise that supports the success of our customers.”

Berry Plastics and its predecessor brands have been a leader in the FIBC industry for more than three decades. Beginning as Marino Technologies, other trusted brands such as Rafypak, Walpole Bag, and Atlas Bag have been added to the portfolio, strengthening the Company’s position with expanded manufacturing capabilities, industry experience, technology expertise, sales coverage, and customer service excellence.

“Berry Plastics’ FIBC business is uniquely positioned to deliver custom bulk packaging and woven polypropylene product solutions to the marketplace. Our North American-based manufacturing, coupled with global sourcing capability, allows us to partner with customers such as Eastman Chemical to provide a high-quality packaging solution for their business needs,” Giordano added.
