Why Trex Company (TREX) Stock Is Skyrocketing Today

NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Trex Company, Inc.  (TREX) stock is soaring 14.41 to $32.80 today after the construction supplies company reported second quarter earnings of $15.2 million, or 46 cents per diluted share, compared to the $13.2 million, or 38 cents per diluted share a year ago, and beating the consensus estimate of 44 cents.

Revenue for the quarter was $121.3 million, up 23% year over year from $98.6 million in the 2013 second quarter, but lower than the consensus estimate of $123.7 million.

The company completed a $50 million share repurchase program announced in the first quarter of 2014.
