Why Athlon Energy (ATHL) Stock Is Falling Today

NEW YORK (TheStreet) -- Athlon Energy (ATHL) was falling 4.9% to $45.31 Friday after pricing a 12.5 million share public offering for selling shareholders.

The company priced the 12.5 million shares in the offering at $46.25 a share. The underwriters of the offer were given a 30-day option to buy up to 1.875 million more shares.

Funds affiliated with Apollo Global Management (APO) will sell the shares included in the offering. Athlon won't receive any proceeds from the offering at it is not selling any shares.
