Free Ice Cream at Cold Stone Thursday

This Thursday from 5-8pm, you can visit your local Cold Stone Creamery for a free 3-ounce sample of ice cream. While the ice cream is free, a $1 donation to the Make-A-Wish Foundation – which grants the wishes of children with life-threatening illnesses – is encouraged.

You can’t just show up and get a free scoop of your favorite flavor, though. The free samples are of one flavor only: Kate’s Creation, a caramel-apple ice cream with extra apples, graham crackers and chocolate flakes. The flavor is the invention of Kate, an ice cream-loving 11-year-old whose wish was to create her own ice cream flavor.

Cold Stone and Make-A-Wish teamed up to bring her to Cold Stone headquarters, where she worked with a Tastemaster to create the all-new flavor. Now thousands of Americans have a chance to taste her creation.

I bet when you clicked on this story, you didn’t think you’d be crying by the end. Our bad. But regardless: Ice Cream. Free.
