The position: Senior designer of women's handbags for Coach
Location: New York City
Job duties: Works with the design director to initiate concepts each season that are fashion driven and reflect the creative vision of the collection. The designers creates sketches and product prototypes throughout the conceptual design process. He or she will also partner with the creative team to refine seasonal concepts, materials, hardware and color palettes for handbag collections, and is responsible for ensuring timeline adherence for all stages of the project. The designer will make sure all elements are delivered accurately and on time, and be expected to uphold design integrity, high quality execution and timeliness throughout the entire development process.

Requirements: This role requires a strong fashion sense and the ability to interpret trends. Candidates must have at least seven years of experience designing handbags or small leather goods, and a bachelor's degree in design or a related field is required. Applicants must be able to sketch both technical drawings and freeform renderings, and experience working with cross-functional teams is preferred. Applicants must possess a strong working knowledge of Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Microsoft Word and Excel. This role requires excellent organizational and communication skills and superb attention to detail. Moreover, candidates must have experience developing products directly with factories.
