The position: Head coach for lacrosse at Howard University

Location: Washington, D.C.

Job duties: Will instruct and coach groups or individuals in the fundamentals of sports, specifically lacrosse. Evaluate potential recruits and athletes' strengths and weaknesses to prepare for competitions. Plan, organize and conduct practice sessions. Identify and recruit potential athletes while arranging and offering incentives such as scholarships. Establish commitment to rules compliance and educate student athletes about the relevant rules and policies related to the NCAA conference and University eligibility requirements, as well as academic standards and the University code of conduct.

The company: Howard University is a research-oriented private university that consists of 12 schools and colleges with a student body of more than 10,500 students.

Requirements: This position requires a bachelor's degree in Sports Management and three to six years of experience. Eleven years of experience may be substituted for educational requirements. Applicants must have knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, as well as teaching and instruction. This job requires knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations. Candidates must be detail-oriented and organized, and able to communicate effectively with a diverse population. Applicants must be able to establish and maintain effective, harmonious work relationships.
