This month, kids can order the Rooty Jr. as many times as they like on IHOP’s nickel.
Children 12 and under can receive one free kid’s meal with each adult purchase from 4-10 p.m. every day in August. The promotion is meant to help parents swamped with back-to-school expenses save a few dollars.
"The busy back-to- school season plus the added financial burden of school supplies makes for a hectic time for many families," Carolyn O'Keefe, IHOP's senior vice president of marketing, said in a press release. "With our August Kids Eat Free promotion, IHOP provides families the chance to relax, connect and keep the family-focused fun of summer alive during this busy time period."
Selections must be made off of IHOP’s “Just for Kids” menu, which features a variety of kid-approved meals from french toast to chicken strips, cheeseburgers and grilled cheese sandwiches.
Popular IHOP specialties, such the Rooty Jr. (scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage and whipped cream topped pancake) and Funny Face (a chocolate chip pancake with whipped cream) are also available. Parents may be happy to know, however, that there are some healthier entrees, such as a pancake topped with bananas and strawberry yogurt, on the menu as well. Prices vary location to location, but typically cost between $3.29 and $4.49.
Drinks are not included, unless otherwise specified. A kid’s soft drink costs $1.49 at most locations. The dine-in only offer is not valid with any other coupons or discounts. Check here to find a participating IHOP near you.
We have to give IHOP credit. The chain loves giving food away; it’s the second time this year that IHOP has run a month-long promotion geared toward families. In April, children 12 and under ate free as part of a tax season special. IHOP also gave away free pancakes Feb. 22 on National Pancake Day.
We can’t wait to see what they’re planning for Christmas.
