The position: Audiovisual archivist for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Museum
Job duties: Ensures the preservation and accessibility of audiovisual materials. Processes incoming audiovisual archival materials, manages the storage and preservation of materials and migrates audio and video content to digital formats for the purpose of preservation and access. Also serves as the primary contact person for those needing to access audio and video content. Recommends policies and procedures related to the storage, preservation and handling of audio and video materials. Ensures adherence to archival standards. Interacts with vendors and assists in the selection of vendors.
The company: The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Museum is a nonprofit organization dedicated to educating visitors from around the world about the history of rock & roll music.
Requirements: Requires college degree in library science, archival studies, audio engineering or a related field. Must have at least three years experience with the preservation or digitization of audiovisual materials. Should have experience with audio and video editing software and hardware, and a working knowledge of digital asset management systems is highly desired. Applicants should have knowledge of the current trends in the preservation of audiovisual materials and knowledge of archival standards and best practices. Applicants should be detail-oriented and able to meet deadlines, prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Must be able to pass a reference check, background investigation and drug screening. Must be willing to work a flexible schedule that may include nights and weekends.
