The position: New media researcher/editor for Hallmark
Location: Kansas City, Missouri
Job duties: Will be responsible for research, editing, interpretation, presentation and preservation of the company's new media assets. Will also participate in guided negotiations and present selected resources to product development teams. Partners with businesses and creative teams around the country to understand their strategies and consumer targets in order to deliver innovative solutions from Hallmark's Collections group and external partners. Will help develop and expand New Media Collections by researching, negotiating, acquiring and editing resources to meet current and future business strategies. Also responsible for negotiating contractual agreements with external talent, agencies and vendors.
The company: Hallmark Cards, Inc. is a major greeting card company that also produces ornaments, gift wrap, scrapbooking supplies and home decoration items.
Requirements: Must have three years of relevant professional experience, including experience with footage and audio research and/or editing. Applicant should be a strong researcher with great aesthetic sense and strong communication skills. College degree preferred, although equivalent work experience could be substituted. Prefer candidates with thorough knowledge of new media, including audio, sound effects, video and music. Ideally, candidate will have knowledge and experience related to rights, permissions and royalties. Should be trend savvy with the ability to develop strategic solutions into concepts. As part of the application process, candidates will be asked to submit samples of their editing work.
