The position: On-air promotions coordinator for Hot 97
Location: New York City
Job duties: Coordinate on-air sales/promotions efforts and oversees marketing and promotions partnerships. Responsible for managing contests from concept and coordination to fulfillment. Keeps track of promotional inventory. Will serve as the direct manager for department interns. Manages necessary response and fulfillment of listener requests and questions via phone and e-mail. Will be responsible for autograph memorabilia and coordinating signings when artists are in-house. Produces press releases for all on-air contest initiatives. Works in conjunction with programming department to execute concert promotions. Oversees and develops partnerships with worthy charity events.
The company: Hot 97 is a popular urban radio station in New York City. The station is owned by Emmis Communications (Stock Quote: EMMS), a media corporation that owns numerous radio broadcasting and magazine publishing businesses.
Requirements: Must have college degree, but they may consider candidates who are still in school. Requires interest or experience in radio promotions. Must have strong interest in music and a passion for urban and/or R&B music. Candidates must have excellent verbal and written communication skills and a high level of energy and commitment. Requires valid driver's license and clean driving record. Should be proficient in common computer programs and software. Customer service experience is a plus. Candidates with an understanding of the hip hop lifestyle are preferred.
