If you’d like to give alleged Russian spies Richard and Cynthia Murphy a piece of your mind, you're in luck. It appears that not only is their number listed, but their voicemail appears to be on too.
Listen to the message here:
The now-jailed couple lived in suburban Montclair, N.J., and if convicted, they could face years in prison. A simple Google search reveals the digits along with the couple’s street address. The voice of the person on the message, which we can only assume belongs to alleged Russian super-spy "Richard Murphy," seems to have a feint Eastern European accent.
He says, “Hi, um, please leave your message. I’ll call you back as soon as I can.”
So, I’m no expert in critiquing spies, or finding them for that matter, but it seems to me that if you have even the slightest Russian accent, it’s probably unwise to choose an Irish name, like Murphy, as your cover. Even if there are tons of Murphys in Russia.
