The position: Associate Director for Museum Scholarship
Location: Washington, D.C.
Job duties: Handles the scholarship program for Smithsonian's National Museum of the American Indian. Responsible for driving the strategic direction for the museum's research and scholarship programs. This person would serve as the manager for the Museum Scholarship Group, and would oversee an assortment of major projects involving research, project management and technical support. Would be expected to cultivate relationships with key individuals in the research community.

Requirements: Must be a U.S. citizen and have a degree in Anthropology, History, Native American Studies or a related field. Also requires one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to a federal GS-15 level. Experience must demonstrate a background in museum research and scholarship, including expertise with research, collections and Native American history and culture.
