It may have gotten a little chillier out and maybe you’ve headed back to school, but you now have a reason to celebrate the fall with some free outings this Saturday.
All day on Saturday, Sept. 26, entrance to all 391 national parks is free in celebration of National Public Lands Day. Several parks will also hold volunteer events. To pick one, go to publiclandsday.org.
If you’d rather spend your Saturday indoors, you can also visit one of more than 800 museums nationwide on the 26th, which is also Smithsonian magazine’s Museum Day. Just pick a museum, print out this admission card and go!
One card covers you and a guest, but unfortunately it can’t be used for multiple museum visits or entry to special exhibits or IMAX screenings. Only one card can be used per household, according to Smithsonian magazine.
