Seven male enhancement products are being recalled after lab results found that the so-called dietary supplements in fact contained potent pharmaceutical drugs used to treat erectile dysfunction.
The Food and Drug Administration found through its own studies that the supplements sold under the names LibieXtreme, Y-4ever, Libimax X Liquid, Powermania Liquid and Capsule, Herbal Disiac and Libipower Plus contained the FDA-approved drugs that weren’t listed on the supplements’ ingredients lists.
The drug tadalafil, or similar drugs aminotadalafil or sidenafil were found in the supplements, and could interact with prescription drugs for people with diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or heart disease and lead to dangerously low blood pressure.
LibieXtreme, Y-4ever, Libimax X Liquid, Powermania Liquid and Capsule, Herbal Disiac were made by Nature & Health and sold at retail stores in California, Georgia, Illinois, Texas, and Ohio. Haloteco’s Libipower Plus was sold through distributors and retail stores in California.
Consumers who’ve bought the pills are urged to stop using them immediately and see a doctor about any side effects. Consumers can also notify the FDA's MedWatch Program at (800) FDA-1088 about any side effects. Nature & Health can be reached at (714) 671-0016 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org, and Haloteco can be reached at (213) 820-9523.
