NEW YORK (MainStreet) – In its continuing quest to get shoppers out of stores and onto its site, Amazon will now bribe you to check out a product in a store and then buy it online. The company is running a promotion in conjunction with its Price Check app, which allows you to scan a product’s barcode and see if it’s cheaper online. Starting Friday, when you use the app to scan a product’s barcode then purchase that product on Amazon, you’ll get 5% off Amazon’s price, for a maximum discount of $5. You’ll have to place the product in your shopping cart using the app, then buy it within 24 hours to get the discount. You can get the discount on up to three purchases made between 9 p.m. PST Friday and 11:59 p.m. PST Saturday.
Perry Ellis is currently taking 50% off sweaters, outerwear and denim when you buy the items online with the coupon code PEHOLIDAY. The code is only good through Thursday at 11:59 p.m. PST, and can’t be used in stores or combined with any other code or discount. Shipping is free over the same time period, and if you spend more than $80 you get a free hat.
Starting Friday at Burger King, when you buy one Whopper you’ll get a second Whopper for free. The promotion lasts through Sunday, and participation may vary. It does not appear that any coupon is required to get the deal.
